Skin Peels

What is it?

Skin peels are a fantastic deep exfoliation treatment used to remove damaged layers of skin to reveal smoother, rejuvenated, fresh looking skin.

Chemicals are applied to the skin to literally peel away skin that has been damaged, leaving you with more evenly pigmented skin that is younger and smoother looking. Suitable for men and women this treatment is a great way of achieving younger looking skin without surgery or needles.

Peels help treat skin conditions such as acne scars, hyper-pigmentation and sun damage with dramatic results and as there are a number different peels available, no matter what your skin type, there is a peel to suit you.

A course of treatments is advisable to achieve ideal results and the final result will last for 1-3 years depending upon the peel and maintenance.

How long does the treatment last?

There are two types of peels we offer, Theraderm Skin Renewal which requires approximately 2-4 weeks of skin preparation before the treatment and Agera Peels which don’t need any preparation. Both are gentle peels, it just depends on your skin to which would be better suited.

There are varying types of peels, from light superficial peels to medium peels, which removes skin from both upper and middle layers of the skin.

Depending upon the peel chosen, your skin type and how many treatments received, results can be seen for up to 1-3 years.

How long does the procedure take?

Peel treatments can last up to 1 hour which includes a full and in-depth consultation plus a skin review. We like to give all of our client’s time to relax before and after the treatment and we welcome clients to stay and enjoy refreshments before leaving.

What to expect from your treatment

Skin peels are not only useful for your face and neck, hands also benefit from skin peels to give a brighter and firmer appearance. These options can be discussed with our highly trained and knowledgeable staff.

When a peel is applied to the skin there may be a slight tingling sensation and the feeling of your skin getting warmer, this is perfectly normal and will be cooled after the treatment.

Redness and mild swelling is expected following the treatment however this will disappear within a few hours depending upon skin type and which peel has been used.

Further advice

All make up and moisturisers should be removed prior to the treatment and reapplication isn’t advised immediately afterwards.

Your skin may become sensitive to heat after the treatment and we advise not to use saunas, steam rooms or have very hot showers or baths for 48 hours after a peel.

Long term results will be seen after a course of treatments and aftercare is essential for optimum results. Our staff will advise on the best products to use and the most effective ways of maintaining fresh looking skin.

If you have an allergy to aspirin, unfortunately we cannot treat you with a peel however we offer many other anti-ageing and skin smoothing treatments that would be more suitable.
